WHO LED THE DATA CENTER BAN?

THE PUBLIC RECORD SHOWS WHO ACTED FIRST

On March 11, 2026, Councilman John Valentine introduced a proposed ordinance to BAN data centers in Monroe Township. Ever since then, he has been personally attacked. This is not campaign rhetoric or someone’s version of events. It is documented in the official public record.

While the governing body discussed the HEXA redevelopment-plan amendment, Councilman Valentine presented language intended to prohibit data centers throughout Monroe Township. He listened to residents, asked the difficult questions and took legislative action to protect our community. Council is the legislative branch of a municipality.

Introducing an ordinance begins the legislative process, it is not the same as final adoption. But the timeline matters and this video documents who stepped forward and initiated the effort.

Let's go back to the public record

March 11, 2026, Councilman John Valentine publicly brought the issue of banning data centers before Monroe Township and pushed for action through the Ordinance Committee.

The Township’s own records confirm that a data-center ordinance was being considered at the March 11, 2026, Ordinance Committee Meeting. That March 11 draft from Councilman Valentine proposed a moratorium prohibiting data centers, although the draft was ultimately marked “REMOVED FROM AGENDA 3/11/2026.”

The timeline matters.
Then, on April 8, 2026, Monroe Township formally introduced Ordinance O:25-2026, which went further and expressly sought to prohibit data centers throughout Monroe Township. See the official record: Read the 3/11/2026 Data Center Draft Ordinance

WHO WAS REALLY LEADING THE DATA CENTER FIGHT?
Monroe residents deserve the true facts, not a political spin, not a waiting game.
